This creature is both admired and feared. Native people in some tribes in South America hold the Boto or Pink Dolphin in reverence. This is easy to understand since Dolphins are very human like in their intelligence and sensitivity. Thus, Dolphin is seen as an extension of the human society. This belief allows some tribes to make an exception and sustain themselves by eating Dolphin. The Chumash people believed that Dolphin would martyr themselves as a sacrifice to feed humans. Many tribes forbade the consumption of Dolphin’s meat because Dolphin was considered a sacred guardian of those traveling by sea. Throughout the process of change, Dolphin provides courage, self-confidence, virtue and strength to endure tumultuous waters. Many people who work with Dolphin energy find their lives transforming (where one door closes, another opens).
